In her early days she used to pursue a career in modeling and was a Kingfisher Calender Girl chosen from Kingfisher Calendar Model Hunt. In 2006 Tara has made her acting debut in Tollywood with the movie "The Angrez". In 2011 she has also made her debut in Bollywood with the film entitled "Mere Brother Ki Dulhan".
